Concept design

The design elements are derived from hand-painted mural tiles and are applied as patterning to the cover, section openers and internal pages.

The design elements were also applied to marketing materials for the launch of the report, this included:

  • video-conference backdrops
  • electronic direct mail
  • banners
  • media walls
  • posters.

Editing

Nikki M Group worked closely with the authors to achieve their objective: a clear, compelling research report for a broad public-sector audience.

This meant not only checking for accuracy – spelling, grammar and stylistic consistency – but also engaging with the content, to help enhance expression, logic and flow.

Our editing services included:

  • applying Australian Government Style Manual conventions
  • scrutinising tables and graphs and making suggestions to improve clarity and accuracy
  • making changes and suggestions to improve expression, including to remove redundancy and ambiguity, and to emphasise or delineate key points.

Photography

To enhance the publication and provide context for the readers, Nikki M Group provided a half-day photo shoot, taking on-site photos in South Melbourne of social housing featured in the report.
